Sustainability is quickly becoming an imperative in the corporate marketplace. Businesses not only understand the value it holds for them to consider the communities and environments of which they are a part, but they also see how valuable it is to demonstrate environmental stewardship and community investment to stakeholders of all kinds; whether they are employees, shareholders, or increasingly value-conscious consumers.
Green Standards identifies the need for a new process that addresses the issue of corporate waste, that is widely available and ultimately alters the way corporate assets are regarded.
This is done by taking corporate furniture and assets destined for the landfill, and instead, channeling them through the Green Standards Charitable Network to benefit the local, national, and international community causes that are most in need. In the process, Social Responsibility and Sustainability PR solutions are generated for clients and can be employed to engage stakeholders and serve as a valuable addition to any sustainability portfolio.
Demonstrating Social Responsibility and Sustainability has been repeatedly documented to improve company reputation, employee satisfaction, productivity, customer goodwill, and brand recognition... but for many clients the greatest value is in knowing they have 'done the right thing'.
Green Standards is currently working towards the goal of diverting one million tons from landfill. This will be the first step towards a new perception of corporate waste and social responsibility. Together, we can keep North America's landfills completely free of corporate assets, and in the process, support the growth of a stronger and more diverse charitable community.
By donating furniture otherwise destined for landfill, the result is a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and a smaller negative impact on the environment. The GS program can provide detailed reporting on 'landfill diversion,' assist with waste audits, and help acheive LEED and BOMA best certification points.
One of the most valuable outcomes of the Green Standards program is the support that can be provided to the under-resourced charitable sector, that helps to fund and encourage great organizations all over North America in their countless charitable endeavors. Beneficiaries attribute this generosity to the kindness of their corporate donors, and provide letters, pictures, and testimonials to show their appreciation.
The Green Standards program provides clients with an effective way of engaging stakeholders, while simultaneously demonstrating sustainability leadership. This program can become a platform for environmental, social, and financial benefits including opportunities to engage employees, and support team-building and philanthropic initiatives that produce outcomes everyone can be proud of. Most important, genuine positive visibility can be gained through the inclusion of Green Standards reporting and PR solutions on websites, in newsletters, or in Annual or Sustainability reports to engage external stakeholders directly.
Our track record is something our clients can take pride in. To date, Green Standards has diverted over 5,164 tons from landfills, resulting in donations valued at $9,325,091, which have been distributed to various charitable organizations across North America. We have a 99.6% landfill diversion rate of all assets from landfill, and have a 92.8% donation rate to charitable causes. While the outreach is most often local, on more than one occasion donations have reached international destinations, including Guatemala, West Africa, and the Philippines.
While many companies make considerable investments in their sustainability portfolios, Green Standards produces genuine environmental, social, and economic benefits for clients often within the budgets they currently spend on waste management. The program can become an exceptionally high- yield addition to any Social Responsibility platform. Together, we can turn the negative process of conventional disposal into deep benefits for the community, environment, and your bottom line.
It has never been easier to do the right thing.
